TRINITY UNITED CHURCH COMMITTEE OF STEWARDS MEETING  JANUARY 5, 2010

Attendees
Rachael Henry, Glenda Turner,  Ann McDougall, Linda Brown, Andy Adamson, Jane Adamson, Don Coleman and Jennifer Bennett.
Regrets- Connie Shibley, Dorina Friedli and Diane Buchanan  A quorum was present.

1.  Call to Order
Ann McDougall called the meeting to order in the name of Jesus Christ, the one and only Head of the Church at 7:10 p.m. 
2. Ann McDougall lead the meeting with the  opening prayer.

3.  Approval of Agenda - Moved by Jen Bennett  that the  agenda be approved with one additions.

4.  Minutes - Moved by Linda Brown and seconded by Jane Adamson that the December 1, 2009 minutes  be accepted with one addition.  Under correspondence, there was a letter from Darlene Nicol to say that $360 was raised during her birthday celebrations.  Ross Nicol asked that the fee for the hall be removed and it was agreed.

5.  Business arising from the minutes
   a) Thanks to Linda Brown for organizing the ringing of our church bell to support the UN Summit on  Climate Change.  Fifteen people attended this event on Dec. 13th.

   b) All Canadian Fundraising Dinner  will be held Feb. 20, 2010 at 5:00.  Many members of Stewards offered to assist with this event.

   c) Winter Wake-Up Breakfasts will be held Jan. 9 - Feb. 6.  Conveners are Boulters and McDougalls.

   d) Going Green tablecloths - Andy Adamson presented a sample of the paper tablecloths.  They are at a cost of $7.50 and will be tested at the Wake-Up breakfasts.

6.  Treasurer's Report - Moved by Don Coleman and seconded by Rachael Henry that the Trinity Financial Reports for 2009 be accepted as presented.  Carried.  Over $12,000. was raised in December.  The Christmas donation letter was well received and $2,805.00 came in from  the envelopes.

8.  Correspondence –

a) Ann presented a bill for $119.82 from Kevin Murphy at Verona Carpets for the new carpet at the side door.  Moved by Jane Adamson and seconded by Ann McDougall that the bill be paid.  Carried.
b) Ann McDougall also received an email from Harold Dalmas of the Loyalist Area Scouts to say they will be proceeding with Trinity hosting their Awards Banquet on Saturday, Apr. 24, 2010.

9.  Ann McDougall will talk to Carl Turner regarding the downstairs sink and the clearing of the snow for the winter.

l0.  New Business
   a) Basement flooding - Ann McDougall will check with Vaughan Good regarding snow not being piled near the hall walls when he plows.
   b) Linda Brown will work on the Nomination Committee

11.  Calendar Update
   a) Official Board - January 25 at Trinity
   b) Annual General Meeting - January 31 after church
   c) Next Stewards Meeting - Feb. 2, 2010

12.  Ann McDougall led us in the closing prayer.
      Linda Brown thanked Ann McDougall for her leadership of the Stewards during the past           year.
