TRINITY UNITED CHURCH COMMITTEE OF STEWARDS MEETING  June 1, 2010

 

Attendees

Glenda Turner, Andy Adamson, Jane Adamson, Don Coleman, Connie Shibley, Dianne Vickery and Jennifer Bennett.  Regrets - Rachael Henry and  Diane Buchanan.    A quorum was present.

 

1.  Call to Order

Andy Adamson called the meeting to order in the name of Jesus Christ, the one and only Head of the Church at 7:01 p.m. 

 

2. Andy Adamson lead the group with the  opening prayer.

 

3.  Approval of Agenda -  Jennifer Bennett moved the approval of the agenda.  Carried.  Dianne Vickery was welcomed to the Stewards.  Glenda Turner agreed to write the minutes of this meeting.

 

4.  Minutes - Moved by Andy Adamson and seconded by Don Coleman that the May 4, 2010 minutes  be accepted.  Carried.

 

5.  Business arising from the minutes

            a) Plant sale - $391.75 was raised from the plant sale.  The long weekend in May is a good time to hold the sale.

 

            b) Report on pie sale - $484. was raised. The suggestion was that  the sale be held from 10:00 - 12:00.

 

            c) Accessibility for Ontarians with Disbilities for 2011 - no report

 

            d) Whale of a Sale - $2061.67 was raised.

 

            e) Tour - Jennifer Bennett suggested possibly waiting until September

           

            f) Planter barrel - Andy Adamson reported that the barrel was planted. $48.10 was collected to be used for purchasing plants and fertilizer.  The watering and fertilizing schedule is (suggested fertilizing at the beginning of each rotation)

6.  Treasurer's Report - Moved by Don Coleman and seconded by Jane Adamson  that the Treasurer's Report be accepted as presented. Don Coleman reported that on June 6th a window would be dedicated in Viola Leslie's memory.  The monies were given as memorial donations at the time of her death.  Don Coleman will ask Session regarding moving the funds.

Correspondence - An email was received regarding October 2nd - apple pie making - 100 pies at $8.  Preorder and payments are to be made to Marilyn Duffe.

 

9.  Maintenance &  Renovations - Glenda Turner reported that the front doors are to be refinished in the near future.

 

10.  New business - a) Anniversary - June 13 - plans are under way for this event

 

b) Verona Festival Fish Fry - August 7, 2010 Connie Shibley asked for assistance with the shopping

 

c) Church Picnic - July 17th at the Adamsons

 

d) Letter to congregation regarding Anniversary - Don Coleman presented the letter to be mailed out this week to our membership. 

           

11.  Next meeting - Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 7pm - Reminder of Observer monies to be placed in the bulletin in Sept.

 

12. Members  joined together in the closing prayer.

 

13. Adjournment at 8:30 p.m.
