Trinity United Church Committee of Stewards Meeting December 7, 2010

1.           Call to Order –Chair Andy Adamson called the meeting to order in the name of Jesus Christ, the one and only Head of the Church at 7:00 pm.

2.           Andy Adamson lead the group with the opening prayer.

3.                  Approval of the Agenda – Moved by Diane Buchanan  and seconded by Jennifer Bennett.

4.                  Minutes – Moved by Rachael Henry that the October 5, 2010 minutes be accepted as read.  Carried.

5.                  Business arising from the minutes:

a)                  The Pig Roast Dinner feedback:  Increase variety of pies (too many apple this year), lots of leftover pork.  Consider using a smaller pig next year.

b)                  Olde Tyme Canadian Dinner:  Scheduled March 5.  A committee is being formed.  We will discuss further at the next meeting.

c)                  Christmas Hampers: Will provide for 30- 32 families.  Boxes to be organized in fellowship hall by Jennifer Bennett.

6.                  Treasurer’s Report – Moved to be accepted by Don Coleman and seconded by Diane Buchanan.  Carried.

7.                  Adoption of the 2011 Budget moved by Don Coleman and seconded by Andy Adamson.  Carried.

9.                  Correspondence

a)    Letter from Jane Adamson resigning from the Committee of Stewards.

b)     Letter from John McDougall regarding events for recreation guide

c)     Report from session

d)     Request from Prince Charles School parents council to refund kitchen fees.

e)     Letter from Community Association thanking for flower barrel competition participation and inviting our participation in 2011. 

10.              Maintenance and Renovations

a)       Stove repair completed, cost $400

b)       New fuse box switch installed in electrical box.

c)       Eaves troughs repaired by Doug Boulter and Carl Turner.

11.              New Business

a)                  Place mats to display church service information.  Various options discussed.  Plastic frames may be used instead which sit on tables.

b)                  January Breakfasts – Ann McDougall to provide sign up list at back of church.  Coffee will be provided for an additional $1 this year.

c)                  Session will be providing “Angels” for Countryview retirement home.

d)                  Important upcoming events:  Dec. 12 last day of Sunday School for 2010, Dec. 19 potluck, Dec. 16 Nominating Committee meeting, Jan. 31 next Official Board meeting, Feb. 13 Annual General Meeting.

e)                  Prince Charles School refund of kitchen fees. Andy Adamson moved the fees be waived, seconded by Diane Buchanan. Carried

12.              Next Meeting:  It was suggested that a January stewardship committee meeting be held at the discretion of the chair.  The next scheduled meeting will be held Feburary 1, 2011 at 7 pm. 

13.              Members joined together in a closing prayer.
